06 Sep I’ve told me partner that I want to Separate…. but what now?
Any separation is incredibly difficult, however, finalising parenting arrangements and property settlements do not always need to be drawn out and expensive.
Once you have separated, the first task you should give yourself is to discuss the property and/or parenting arrangements with a lawyer to understand the concepts involved with being able to achieve a fair resolution. You should then discuss the issues with your former partner in an attempt to settle matters in accordance with your advice. If you are able to agree on particular terms of an agreement, this will assist you coming to an early and cost effective resolution of your matters.
In the event you are still butting heads, you have the option to mediate in an attempt to settle the matters without Court intervention.
