08 Oct Case Management Pathway
The new case management pathway is designed to progress matters through the Court as quickly and fairly as possible with the intention of having as little impact on the families and children as possible.
Identifying risk and safety at the commencement of the case is focused on, with as many opportunities for alternate dispute resolution as possible.
The process sees an increase in involvement of Senior Registrars, Registrars and Family Consultants to alleviate workload of judges so that they can attend to trials and delivering judgements.
The first Court event will occur within 6-8 weeks of filing with an expectation that parties attend mediation or dispute resolution within 6 months of filing.
Trials will be commenced where possible within 12 months of filing, with a hope to reduce up to 90% of cases within the system.
